Haley’s Summer Wedding in Greenwich

Haley's Summer Wedding in Greenwich was not without behind the scenes drama...
2020 has tested all of us in some way, but Haley had her fair share of challenges as she tried to arrange her wedding to Dan. Although their beloved family from the USA couldn't attend, friends of the couple rallied and the day was a relaxed celebration in their local London neighbourhood. It was a treat to work with Haley to create her dream dress and create an old-school, glamourous look.
Haley and Dan married under the shady colonnades at The Queens House in Greenwich
But this wasn't always the plan. The couple had to change their venue and date countless times before they were able to go ahead with an intimate summer wedding with close friends. A videographer helped to connect friends and family around the world via Zoom, and a relaxed picnic in the evening was the perfect end to their day. A close friend of the couple, Richard from Gare Life captured their magic moments.
Haley came to us with a sensational gown from Ines di Santo, made from silk crepe, which is lightweight, durable, and flows beautifully. The dress was gorgeous, but not perfect, so we got to work!

Alterations and refits...that's what we do!
We altered the dress by lifting the shoulders, modifying the sleeves, and shortening them to fit her perfectly. The lace inserts in the sleeves had torn, so we repaired them and managed to retain the elegant curved edge and scalloped finish. The dress has a slight train, and we shortened the hem and added a hook so Haley could walk around more comfortably.
We also found gorgeous French lace from Michaels' Bridal Fabrics which we used to create a panel at the back of the dress. The buttons are a pretty touch running all the way down the back of the dress; we sourced these from Bridal Covered Buttons.
Summer flowers to finish the look.
Haley's overall look was elegant and fresh. Rebecca at Ivy, Pip & Rose decorated the colonnades at The Queen's House in Greenwich using a limited colour palette of greens and whites. Haley's hand-tied bouquet included fragrant eucalyptus, sculptural ferns, and white anemones. Haley's summer wedding in Greenwich was a hit, and it proves that love is not cancelled in 2020!
Congratulations, Dan and Haley! x Delphine.
