Maria – Leather Jacket and Lace Tulle

Estimated reading time 3 minutes

Maria rocked the feminine lace of an Essence of Australia dress with a hand painted leather jacket for her big day. This unique and deeply meaningful Essex wedding was full of joy, rainbow roses and the odd colourful biker among the guests!

Maria came to us with a long and fairly classically styled Essence of Australia dress. But she had no intentions of keeping this a classic! Maria had a clear vision of what she wanted, and their big day was set to be full of special little touches - from hand-painted leather jackets, to rainbow roses. The sheer back and line of satin covered buttons would give a little peak at her 2 symmetrical tattoos. Despite the dress being full length, Maria wanted the hem to be at exactly the right length to show off the 3 pairs of exquisitely decorated shoes she had sourced, not to mention the dance she had planned for later on in the evening.

Maria came to us with her sister Wendy who had successfully fought cancer and was now there to help Maria plan it all.  The stunning rainbow roses were a flower that had becomes the family's emblem, symbolising a celebration of life and joy. Maria's dress became a canvas to allow things close to her to shine. The dress featured a sheer back and line of satin covered buttons running down the centre line. We added a few hidden touches to the dress to support the sheer back design, without adding any coverage to the back, allowing a perfect little sneak peak at the 2 symmetrical tattoos on her back.

Maria and Martin exchanged vows in among the pillars of the open air garden at Creeksea Place Manor House.

Afterwards their reception was in the beautifully decorated marquee at Creeksea Place Manor House.

Maria initially gave the rainbow roses to her sister Wendy, after Wendy received the all-clear from cervical cancer. The rainbow rose now holds a special place as a truly special & sentimental flower to Maria and her family. Jackie from Courts of Rayleigh teamed the rainbow roses with more pink roses and pink cala lillies for the brides bouquet as well as corsages and buttonholes for the entire bridal party.

Maria completed her rock chic look by teaming her lace dress with a bespoke designed white leather jacket. Maria had the jacket hand painted by Faith Beswick at FAB Bridal who loves to incorporate the bride's wedding flowers into the artwork that she is painting.  The phrase "Til death do us part" was particularly important to both Maria and Martin, as they both work in the funeral industry in a family run business in Essex.

Maria took great care of her girls, with her lovely sister Wendy as maid of honour on the day. Robes from eBay!

Beautiful bias cut bridesmaid dresses in pastel pinks. Bridesmaid dresses from Coast.

Maria and Martin performed a dance for all of their special guests under the beautiful marquee created for them by Creeksea Place.

And after seeing the photos of these two cutting a little rug, now we know why Maria was so sure about the length of that hem!

We feel so humbled and happy to have played a small part in such a unique and meaningful day for Maria, Martin and all their family and friends. Congratulations Martin and Maria!
